Outlook 2003: New Account

Step 1:

In Outlook's menu,
  • Click on Tools,
  • Then click on Email Accounts.

Step 2:

  • Click on Add a new e-mail account.
  • Click on Next.

Step 3:

  • Click on POP3.
  • Click on Next.

Step 4:

Write in account information:
  • Under User Information write in your name and email address.
  • Under Login Information for the User Name, make sure to write in the full email address, like bobsmith@xyz.com . Then write in your password below.
  • Under "Incoming Mail Server (POP3):" and " Outgoing mail server (SMTP):" write in mail.xyz.com . Replace xyz.com with your own domain name.

Step 5:

  • Click on More Settings.
  • Click on Advanced.
  • Set the Outgoing server (SMTP): to 587.
  • Click on the Outgoing Server tab.

Step 6:

  • Click on the Outgoing Server tab.
  • Select My outgoing Server Requires (SMTP) requires authentication.
  • Click on OK.

Step 7:

  • Click on Next.

  • Click on Finish.

Step 9:

  • Test your new account by clicking on Send/Receive.

Outlook 2003: Changing An Existing Account

Step 1:

In Outlook's menu
  • Click on Tools,
  • Then click on Email Accounts.

Step 2:

  • Click on View or change existing e-mail accounts.
  • Then click on Next.

Step 3:

  • Select the existing account that you wish to use.
  • Then click on Change.

Step 4:

  • Under User Information write in your name and email address.
  • Under Login Information for the User Name, make sure to write in the full email address, like bobsmith@xyz.com .
  • Then write in your password below.
  • Under "Incoming Mail Server (POP3):" and " Outgoing mail server (SMTP):" write in mail.xyz.com . Change xyz.com to your own domain name.

Step 5:

  • Click on More Settings.
  • Click on Advanced.
  • Set the Outgoing server (SMTP): to 587.
  • Click on the Outgoing Server tab.

Step 6:

  • Click on the Outgoing Server tab.
  • Select My outgoing Server Requires (SMTP) requires authentication.
  • Click on OK.

  • Click on Next.

  • Click on Finish.

Step 9:

  • Test your new account settings by clicking on Send/Receive.

OutlookExpress: Setting Up A New Account

Step 1:

  • In Outlook Express"s menu, click on Tools.
  • Click on Accounts.

Step 2:

  • Click on Add.
  • Click on Mail.

Step 3:

  • Write in your name.
  • Click on Next.

Step 4:

  • Write in your email address.
  • Click on Next.

Step 5:

  • If your domain name is like mydomain.com
    under "Incoming Mail(POP3, IMAP or HTTP) Server:" and "Outgoing mail(SMTP) server:" write in mail.mydomain.com.
  • Change mydomain.com to your own domain name.
  • Click on Next.

Step 6:

  • In Account Name, write in your FULL email address. If your email address is bobsmith@xyz.com write in bobsmith@xyz.com as the Account Name and NOT just bobsmith.
  • Write in your password in the password field.
  • Click on Next.

Step 7.

  • Click on Finish.

Step 8.

  • There's one more thing to change. Under the All tab, click on the name of the new account you just created. Click on Properties.

Step 9.

  • Click on Advanced.

Step 10.

  • In Advanced, change Outgoing mail (SMTP) to 587. Click on OK.

Step 11.

  • Test your new account by clicking on Send/Receive.

OutlookExpress: Changing An Existing Account

Step 1:

  • In Outlook Express's menu
  • Click on Tools
  • Click on Accounts.

Step 2:

  • Under the All tab, click on the account you're trying to set up.
  • Click on Properties.

Step 3:

  • Click on Servers.

Step 4:

  • If your domain name is like mydomain.com : In Incoming mail (POP3): write mail.mydomain.com In Outgoing mail (SMTP): write mail.mydomain.com In Account Name: write in your FULL email address. If your email address is like bobsmith@xyz.com write in bobsmith@xyz.com as the Account Name and NOT just bobsmith.

Step 5:

  • Click on Advanced.
  • In Outgoing mail (SMTP) write 587.
  • Click on OK.

  • Click on Close.

Step 7:

  • Test your new account settings by clicking on Send/Receive.
